ABOUT US

Nickel Creek Gun Dogs is owned and operated by John Augustine. John has more than 38 years of experience training different types of gun dogs. His experience includes 5 years as a Field Trial Trainer and more than 25 years of experience of as a professional trainer for a number of sporting clubs in Colorado. Most recently he was selected as the professional trainer for Quail Run Sports Club, one of the premier bird hunting and sporting clay sporting clubs in Colorado. John and his dogs have been featured on the following shows:"American Gun Dog", "Cowboys", and "Modern Shooter". 

Nickel Creek Gun Dogs specializes in breeding and training pointing breeds including German Shorthair Pointers, English Setters and English Pointers and training of all types of hunting dogs (pointing and flushing). John's dogs are bred and trained to be exceptional bird hunters, superb field trialers and excellent family pets. Nickel Creek Gun Dogs is located south of the Denver metropolitan area at Quail Run Sports in Kiowa, Colorado.

Guided hunts We offer guided upland game bird hunts on-site at Quail Run Sports in Kiowa, Colorado and throughout a number of states including Colorado, Kansas and Montana. AVAILABLE DOGS

Nickel Creek Gun Dogs prides itself on producing and training exceptional gun dogs and family companions. Below you will find information regarding our puppies and started dogs, and answers to questions that we frequently receive.

Pricing - The pricing for our pups starts at $800 and varies based on the breeding. Specific pricing for available pups is provided with each new litter announcement. Pricing for our started dogs varies per dog.

Deposits - Many of our litters are planned well in advance. Therefore, many pups are reserved prior to the actual delivery date. If you are interested in reserving a pup from a planned litter, please contact John to make arrangements. We require a $100 deposit depending on the litter.

Shots/tails/dew claws - All of our puppies will have received their first set of shots and will have been dewormed prior to leaving for their new homes. We will provide you with the documentation necessary to take with you to your first veterinary appointment. All German Shorthair Pointers will have their tails docked and dew claws removed.

Started dogs - Occasionally we will have started dogs available for sale. Started dogs are usually 6 months of age or older, and will have undergone initial gun dog training. All of our started dogs will have been hunted over. Specific details will be provided for each started dog that we post.
